The golf grip is one of the key elements of
the golf club. The golf grip is
the only place the golfer has direct contact with the golf club, making it
an important factor when it comes to golf club fitting and playability.
The
golf club grip can be made from a variety of materials. These include
rubber, cord and various synthetic materials, among them elastomers. Golf
grips are available in any number of sizes and colors. Golf putter grips
are unique in that they have a flat front to help a golfer precisely align
his or her hands. Golf grips are fairly easy to replace. This process is
called re-gripping and only takes a few minutes per club with the proper
materials (grip tape, grip solvent and the golf club grip.)
Among the more popular golf grip brands are Golf Pride, Lamkin, Winn,
Karakal, Tacki-Mac, Avon and Tour Golf. Any grip from these companies can
be made to nearly any size to fit the golfer. There are specific grips for
women golfers and junior golfers as well. It is very important to not
neglect the golf grip when assembling the golf club or when re-gripping
clubs.
